NanoPhos SA was incorporated in November, 2005 at the Science & Technology Park of Lavrio, Greece and was co-founded by Dr. I. Arabatzis and Dr. V. Theoharakis. Its vision statement is indicative for the mission undertaken: “NanoPhos tunes the nano-world, to serve the macro-world”. It is a company that harnesses the power of nanotechnology and offers solutions to its business partners. We achieve this by creating functional materials that can change the way we work and live. As a company, we emphasize the rapid deployment of recent scientific discoveries into the marketplace.
More specifically, NanoPhos has made ceramic and glass surfaces capable of cleaning themselves forever, where microorganisms are destroyed without the use of chemical agents. Additionally has made stones, cement, roof tiles, and wood repel water and self-protecting. NanoPhos’ unique ability lays in the fact that it transforms these ideas into easily implementable industrial level solutions.
